Second Life

Second life is a virtual world that was founded by Linden Research in 2003. It is just like a game. Second life resembles to Sims. It has more than 10 million users. All these people use this game for different purposes. Some of them use it just for fun, some use for making friends and some people use it for education.

Second life is just like real life. You can edit your appearance, have clothes, dance, sit and talk with people, etc. While spending time there you have fun. You cannot notice how the time passes. You can go to cinema, listen to live music, join sport entertainments, go to disco and dance... And all of these let you have good time and fun. This is why s many people use SL.

All people around the world wants to have friends from other countries and this is the place that you can make lots of friends from all over the world. We can talk about our traditions, beliefs, ideas, daily life, etc. Some people meet with their virtual friends. Even if you are a shy person in real you don't have to be shy in SL as nobody sees your real appearance, hear your voice, see your actings unless you want to show. People come together wherever in the world by teleporting themselves. You can have a friend eve from African countries. Moreover some people improve their friendship, love each other and start dating. These are the reasons why people use SL to make friends.

And as it comes to education just like us some people use SL for education. You can have online meetings, join panels, conferences and lectures. There are places where people come together, sit and talk about education or about lessons. Sometimes a lecturer comes and gives a speech to people. Some people do research for educational purposes. There are some buildings which are built just for education. They look like real and has no difference than real schools. There are virtual campuses and students can show their projects there too. We as FLE 136 students are from those who use SL for educational purposes.
